The Richmond County School System (RCSS) is excited to welcome students back for the 2025–2026 school year! To help families prepare, we encourage parents and guardians to check our annual Back to School Guide, which will be available on this page in mid-July. The guide includes key information about school supplies, bell schedules, dress code reminders, and what to expect during the first week. Families should also follow our official RCSS social media channels for timely updates and announcements as the first day approaches. It’s essential to keep your contact information up to date in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, allowing your child’s school to share important reminders, teacher assignments, and event details. Don’t forget to attend your school’s Open House event—it’s an excellent opportunity to meet teachers, tour the building, and get ready for a successful school year.

We encourage our families to read the annual RCSS Welcome Guide to learn more about what our school system offers. It includes important back-to-school dates, a copy of our academic calendar, bell schedules and much more. Copies of the Guide are sent directly to registered families in the summer, so please ensure that your mailing address is always up-to-date in the Parent Portal. 

• Back-To-School Virtual Town Hall feat. Dr. Malinda Cobb, Interim Superintendent of Schools: Monday, July 28, 5:30 p.m. Livestream links will be posted one hour before the event starts on this page and on Richmond County School System social media profiles. 

• In-Person Registration (for families new to our school system): Thursday, July 31 (8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.) at your child(ren)'s school.

• Open House (elementary): Thursday, July 31 (noon - 6 p.m.) at your child(ren's) school.

• First Day of School (elementary): Monday, August 4. 

• Open House (middle, magnet, K-8, high): Friday, August 1 (noon - 6 p.m.) at your child(ren)'s zoned school. 

• First Day of School (middle, magnet, K-8, high): Tuesday, August 5. 

New families to our school system should visit our Registration Central for step-by-step instructions on registering for school. 

Returning parents and guardians should check their Infinite Campus Parent Portal and ensure that their mailing address, phone number, and email address are current. 

Registration Dates: 

• Online Registration: Open through July 25
• Onsite Registration: July 31
• Onsite Registration During Open House: July 31 & August 1

To help our families prepare for a safe and successful school year, all Richmond County School System (RCSS) families—new and returning—must update their information and complete bus transportation registration for each student through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. 

The deadline to register for bus transportation for the new school year is Friday, July 25. Parents and guardians who registered during the spring do not have to re-register.
