Title I, Part A (Title I) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended (ESEA) provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.
 
What Is Family/Parent Engagement?
Title I, Part A defines parent involvement as the ...participation of parents in regular, two-way and meaningful communications with school staff that involves the student, addresses learning and engages the family in school activities.

    Maverick parents, each year Title 1 schools are required to involve parents in the review and revision process of the School/Parent Policy, School Compact and Parental Budget (1%). Please take a moment and complete the suggestion form for the required documents of Title 1 Parent Invovlement. The required documents are located to the left of the page (click to open). You can download the form and email it back to Ms. Jennings at jennire@boe.richmond.k12.ga.us or mail/bring the form to Murphey Middle School/Ms. Jennings, 2216 Bungalow Rd, Augusta, GA 30906. Georgia Parent Survey

The Georgia Parent Survey contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphones or tablet.  For parents that do not have access to the Internet, school administrators should consider scheduling dates and times to allow parents to complete the Georgia Parent Survey at school.  All parents should be encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis.
